Use journals.

  • Why have a journal? See: https://medium.com/@jessewright-31185/advance-in-work-and-life-using-a-journal-5052afe59c64
  • Have a personal journal and a work or school journal. You should store as much as possible electronically. I recommend folders of year and month. Use search for keywords. Make keywords with a # character (most programs use this convention).
  • One concept: if you write it down (not type) you will remember. The more times you write it down the better the memory.

If you are having problems:

  • get help promptly
  • “Please Help Me” is almost always received well
  • Avoid religious based help, even if you are of that religion. They have an agenda beside helping you which you do not need.

A dedicated color scanner and B&W printer are good additions to your computer setup. (See if you can deduct it from you taxes). The monitor or screen needs to be larger if your eyes are weak.

I don’t recommend a laptop for taking notes in class or meeting unless you have a high typing speed. A pen and paper works better. You need to listen to the lecture. If at all possible schedule an hour of down time between each class or meeting to record your impressions.
