What is a pit fighter? Long ago, in the South, people would dig a deep pit with two fighters, with knives would fight. They bet on the winner. The loser, and sometimes the winner buried in the pit.

The Democrats are a civilized group of people. They debate using reason and will compromise. They preach hope. They don’t stigmatize people holding differing views.

The GOP has become pit fighters since at least Ronald Reagan’s time from 1981 to 1989. They may have started earlier, but I was not watching politics before that time.

They are feral, brutal, full of hate, and will do anything to hold on to power. They use violence and the threat of violence to get their way.

Has anyone really thought about why the President gave proactive pardons to congress members and officials? First, I think the Supreme Court will declare that illegal. Just doing their Constitutionally mandated jobs made them a target.

There are also numerous high-level people who are leaving the government because of the legal and physical threats.

Politics is now a pit fight and the Democrats must act like it. They must follow the pattern of the GOP to win.

Democrats must also admit the new reality. Presidential candidates must be Male, White, Protestant, and Rich. Obama was an outlier. In today’s climate, that is necessary. There are, as we found out, too many people who would reject any other person. The “When they go low, we go high” idea no longer works.

They must put out as much information from all of their followers on social media.

Local and state elections should have more focus and leadership. I have seen elections in Louisiana, where there are multiple Democrats for one position; effectively splitting the vote and making a win for the GOP.

Fact Check is an enormous weapon that the GOP hates.

The GOP is now controlled by President (aka King) Trump, who exercises an extreme discipline. You can expect very few, in none, who will vote against him in the GOP. The midterms will see President Trump defeat them if they seek reelection.
